Using a BP fuel card is the exact same as using a credit card but without the interest fees. Drivers simply find a participating fuel station, fill up their vehicle and then pay inside the kiosk using their fuel card. Payment for every transaction will then be taken by direct debit the following week. All BP fuel cards are PIN-protected and you can set spending limits on each card to ensure they're being used responsibly.
Drivers using the BP Bunker and BP Flexi cards will be charged a fixed weekly price which you'll be notified of by text or email the week before. On the other hand, if you have the BP Pump Price card then you'll pay exactly what the price is at the pump. The type of BP fuel card you own determines where you can use it. BP Pump Price allow you to use your fuel card at non-BP sites, including Esso, Texaco and some Gulf sites. If you're fueling up at a Tesco Alliance station in partnership with Esso and displaying the BP acceptance logo, you can use your BP Pump Price fuel card there. You cannot use BP cards at non-Esso Tesco sites owned sites.
Unfortunately, BP fuel cards are not accepted at Sainsburys currently. Contracts between fuel companies and supermarket providers frequently change, so it's worth checking in the future if you already have a BP fuel card.
A BP fuel card works the same way any other fuel card works. You fill up your fuel tank, and instead of paying for it with a company card or your own, you use a fuel card at the till. Fuel is then paid for at the end of the week through a bill sent directly to the company. Some fuel cards will require the use of a PIN for added security.
