We know how important it is to not make judgements based on first impressions, and so we work closely with our customers to help find the most appropriate fuel card. Our dedicated Account Managers are always on hand to answer questions and help you make the most of your fuel card. Regardless of whether you’re a taxi driver, sole trader, or part of a business fleet, we can offer you a fuel card that can help to control costs and limit admin.

To demonstrate how our fuel cards can help a wide range of customers, we’ve selected a diverse range of well-known film and tv characters, all with different businesses and needs. We’ve considered their average spend, preferred filling station, vehicle and fuel type, and also where they drive. Using this information, our Fuel Card Experts then determined what fuel card would be most suitable for each character’s business needs.

Del Boy

  • Vehicle type: Van
  • Average spend: £200 per month
  • Fuel type: Petrol
  • Preferred filling station: Sainsbury’s
  • Where do they drive? Local

Our recommendation: Supermarket Card

Del boy is always looking to save money and by offering him one of our supermarket cards, he can access the cheapest retail priced petrol in the UK. The Morrisons, Tesco’s & Sainsbury’s in Peckham all accept the card which is lovely jubbly!

Optimus Prime

  • Vehicle type: HGV
  • Average spend: £8,000 per month
  • Fuel type: Diesel
  • Preferred filling station: Esso
  • Where do they drive: International

Our recommendation: UK Fuels Card

One of our UK Fuels cards would help Optimus Prime travel around the UK, as he’ll have access to over 3000 fuel stations, so he won’t have to spend a long time away from fighting the Decepticons! If Optimus ever needs to travel overseas, he could benefit from contacting our partners at UTA about one of their continental cards. This will allow him to save money on fuel when travelling internationally.

Batman

  • Vehicle type: Multi-vehicle fleet
  • Average spend: £2,000 per month
  • Fuel type: Petrol and diesel
  • Preferred filling station: BP
  • Where do they drive: Local

Our recommendation: BP T50 Card

Batman could travel across Gotham City with ease if he took advantage of our BP T50 fuel card. This card will offer him access to a weekly fixed price for unleaded and diesel at every BP station, so it doesn’t matter if he’s burning diesel in the Batmobile or petrol in the Batcycle, we’ve got him covered!

Postman Pat

  • Vehicle type: Van
  • Average spend: £500 per month
  • Fuel type: Diesel
  • Preferred filling station: Esso
  • Where do they drive: Local

Our recommendation: Esso National Card

Pat and Jess are up very early travelling around Greendale and Pencaster, so it’s important they can keep his red van moving. Although Pat probably has access through Royal Mail, if he decided to become an independent courier, we would recommend our Esso National card which will allow him to fill up at every Esso station in the UK at a fixed rate for his diesel.

Iron Man/Tony Stark

  • Vehicle type: Multi-vehicle fleet
  • Average spend: £2,000 per month
  • Fuel type: Diesel
  • Preferred filling station: Shell
  • Where do they drive: International

Our recommendation: Shell Flexi Card

Tony definitely wants to look after all those supercars with some high-quality fuel. A Shell Flexi card would ensure he can access high-quality Shell fuel at any station in the UK at a competitive weekly price!

Bob the Builder

  • Vehicle type: Van
  • Average spend: £500 per month
  • Fuel type: Diesel
  • Preferred filling station: Morrisons
  • Where do they drive: Local

Our recommendation: Keyfuels Card

We can fix it for Bob with one of our Keyfuels cards. Bob can fill up his van at over 3000 sites in the UK and receive a weekly fixed rate for his diesel, helping him save more money for materials.

Charlie Slater

  • Vehicle type: Taxi
  • Average spend: £500 per month
  • Fuel type: Diesel
  • Preferred filling station: Tesco
  • Where do they drive: Local

Our recommendation: UK Fuels Card

Charlie is an EastEnders taxi driver and so spends a lot of time driving around Albert Square. It’s therefore important that he has the right fuel card and with our UK Fuels card, he can conveniently fill up his taxi at over 3,000 fuel stations and the fixed weekly price will help to stabilise overall fuel cost.
